- 2 tablespoon ghee
- ½ Cup powdered white sugar
- 1 teaspoon green cardamom powder
- ½ teaspoon saffron
- 2 tablespoon warm milk
- 2 tablespoon chopped almonds and pistachios

- Begin by soaking saffron strands in warm milk. Set it aside while you prepare the modak mixture.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat ghee over medium heat.
- Add the khoya (mawa) to the pan and cook it for 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent sticking or burning.
- Pour the saffron milk into the khoya mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the saffron's vibrant color and aroma to infuse.
- Transfer the mixture to a plate and let it cool until it's comfortable to touch.
- Once the mixture has cooled, add powdered sugar, chopped almonds, and pistachios. Mix everything thoroughly.
- Now grease or brush the modak mold with ghee skip this process if you're using nonstick molds.
- Take a small portion of the dough (according to the size of the mold) and place it into one side of the mold. Gently press the filling with the other side of the mold to create the modak shape.
- Carefully open the mold and remove the formed modak, placing it on a plate. Repeat this process for the remaining mawa modaks.
- Arrange the modaks on a serving platter and garnish them with saffron strands. If they are too soft, you can refrigerate them for 5-10 minutes to firm them up.
